The topic Weekly poll: would you buy a Poco X8 Pro or a Poco X8 Pro Max? is currently the subject of lively discussion — readers and analysts are keeping a close eye on developments.
This is taking place in a dynamic environment: companies’ decisions and competitors’ reactions can quickly change the picture.
Prices are rising across the board, which could lead some to pick up a mid-range or a flagship killer phone instead of a premium flagship. If that’s you, are you looking at the Poco X8 Pro or X8 Pro Max as your next phone?

The Poco X8 Pro Max has a lot going for it with a Dimensity 9500s chipset (a derivative of the 9400 chip), a huge 8,500mAh battery with chart-topping endurance and fast charging, a great 6.83” display (12-bit, Dolby Vision), a decent camera and a few goodies like an ultrasonic fingerprint reader.
We heaped a lot of praise on the X8 Pro Max in our review – the phone delivers flagship-grade features at a mid-range price. The camera is the only component that doesn’t punch above its weight – that said, it’s still good for a mid-range phone.
The Poco X8 Pro is the more affordable of the two while retaining a lot of premium features – an aluminum frame with an IP69K rating, 100W fast charging, a 6.59” Dolby Vision display, stereo speakers with Dolby Atmos and so on.
It’s a mid-ranger that doesn’t pretend otherwise, but it chooses its components wisely – the Dimensity 8500 chip is a great performer, the storage is fast UFS 4.1, the 6,500mAh battery achieved an impressive endurance and the camera is pretty solid.
There is a lot of competition from the likes of the Samsung Galaxy S25 FE, vivo V70, Realme 16 Pro+, Nothing Phone (4a) and others. The Pocos have the advantage of global distribution (sans North America), which some of the alternatives lack (e.g. the iQOO 15R is cool, but good luck finding one outside of India).
What do you think about the Poco X8 Pro Max – can it be your next phone?
What about the Poco X8 Pro – it’s a bit smaller and cheaper, which makes it better-suited for some people’s budget and requirements. Is that you?
